In addition certificates of recognition are presented to the authors of the selected papers. In the case of co-authors, individual certificates will be presented, but the honorarium will be split among the number of authors. Award presentations are made at the Honors and Awards Luncheon of the ASEE-GSW section.

The paper must be an original paper written specifically for and published in the Proceedings of the ASEE-GSW Section Annual Conference. The award recipient must agree to attend the spring meeting at which the award is presented. Otherwise, the award will be given to the next highest ranked candidate who agrees to attend. This award is presented each year to an institution in the ASEE Midwest Section that has obtained the largest total person-miles attending the annual ASEE Midwest Section Conference. The award consists of a certificate, traveling car award trophy, and $250 award. The award is presented at the Business Luncheon at the annual ASEE Midwest Section Conference. The trophy will be housed at that institution for one year until the next annual ASEE Midwest Section Conference. The recipient institution is required to return the trophy at the next annual ASEE Midwest Section Conference or ship the trophy to the Program Chair prior to the conference.
