Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP)

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is now administering NREIP, sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). NREIP is a ten week summer research opportunity for undergraduate Juniors & Seniors, and Graduate students. U.S. citizenship required; Permanent residents accepted at certain labs.

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG)

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG)

The fellowship program is sponsored by the Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program This program is intended for U.S. citizens at or near the beginning of their graduate studies in science and/or engineering programs. The fellowships are for three year tenures. The stipends begin at $30,500 for first year fellows, $31,000 for second year fellows, and $31,500 for third year fellows. Full tuition and fees and a health insurance allowance are included as part of the program. The application cycle is from September to January.

Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTCs)

For more than 25 years, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has sponsored AVTCs in partnership with the North American auto industry to educate the next generation of automotive engineers and accelerate the development and demonstration of advanced vehicle technologies. In the Fall 2014, the U.S. DOE will launch the 11th AVTC series, EcoCAR 3. Colleges and universities with accredited engineering programs in North America may compete for the opportunity to participate in EcoCAR 3 through a Request for Proposal (RFP) Process. Interested universities wishing to apply may visit www.ecocar3.org to receive the RFP and Modeling and Design Problem. Deadline to apply for EcoCAR 3 is December 9, 2013. For more information about EcoCAR 3, visit www.ecocar3.org or email avtc@anl.gov.
