Each year over 800 faculty and professionals from around the world receive Fulbright scholar grants for advanced research and university lecturing in the United States. Individual grants are available in selected countries. These scholars apply for grants through the Fulbright commission/foundation or public affairs section of the U.S. embassy in their home countries.

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is an international organization dedicated to advanced research and training in molecular biology and biotechnology, with special regard to the needs of the developing world. ICGEB offers both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships.

The Semiconductor Research Corporation offers international graduate fellowships developed to include universities outside of North America in response to the needs of SRC international members. It is expected that IGFP Fellows will complete their PhD in an area relevant to microelectronics and that upon completion of the program, will secure employment with an SRC member company or a faculty position in an accredited four-year college or university.
