Isadore T. Davis was an active member of the ASEE Corporate Member Council serving as its Chair, member of the ASEE Board of Directors, and Vice President for Institutional Councils. Davis worked tirelessly towards excellence in all matters he pursued, especially in matters of minority education, diversity in education and the workplace. He was a champion of engineering and technology careers and a leader in fostering collaboration between groups and individuals to impact societal issues.
Davis had a long career in industry working for AiResearch, Hughes, Raytheon, and Rolls-Royce. While Chair of the ASEE Corporate Member Council, he was instrumental in working with all four ASEE Councils to promote excellence in engineering education with industry involvement and with the goals of improving diversity in our society. It is in that spirit that the Isadore T. Davis Award for Excellence in Collaboration of Engineering Education and Industry is named after him.
