Program Assistant


Job Description 

This position is responsible for administrative support for operational activities such as: application processing, panels, orientation, and outreach associated with the assigned government program.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Provides support for a major program, including

  • Provides helpdesk support to applicants
  • Conducts eligibility check of applications
  • Assists Program Manager with production and development of outreach materials
  • Makes logistical arrangements for annual panel reviews
  • Assists with panel set up
  • Organizes and oversees annual orientation
  • Conducts surveys
  • Principal point-of-contact for the general public
  • Updating content and maintaining program website 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager 


Supervisory Duties

Not Applicable


Essential Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-2 years of office experience
  • Interest in graduate education, particularly in STEM, preferred


Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Professional self-starter who is able to work collaboratively with others
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and great follow up skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS-Office and Internet
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize ever-changing priorities
